Hey! I’m Sunny.

A copywriter and messaging strategist dedicated to helping you create a business you (and your audience) love.

An ex-designer who found her words.

Armed with an UX design background (website by yours truly!) and a lifelong love for devouring books, writing stories, and talking to strangers about their dreams, copy was a no-brainer for me.

When I discovered copy, it was eureka, zing.

Copy and messaging sat at the intersection of creativity and business. At the core of our consumer world. In every creative discipline, we communicate with clarity, educate, and try to tell stories worth listening to.

GOOD words give us the direction we need to push forward with clarity and purpose.

Every piece of copy I write for you will be infused with accessibility, strategic messaging, story, and (non-sleazy) sales frameworks.

I’ll be your creative partner.

Cheesy as it is, the best part of the job really are the people I get to connect with. My main goal is to help you succeed, which means more ideas and resources for you.

You’ll never have to wonder why.

I always give my clients clear explanations behind my choices during our copy review. So you don’t have to settle for copy that just ‘sounds nice’.

You get a writer who thinks visually too.

With my UX and graphic design background, I’m thinking about readability, accessibility, and aesthetics when I write too.

You get to sit back.

You hired a contractor to help you out, not teach them the job.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a little PDA. But I won’t need any hand holding while we work together.

Four pretty dang good reasons to work with me.

Ps. I'm not always dolled up and pretending to look at my laptop in a sunlit studio

In fact, I'm usually sweaty or covered in paint.

I like to think of myself as someone with a big appetite for everything - people, connection, experience, knowledge.

I spent my late teens and early 20s as the ultimate do-it-for-the-plot gal. Said 'yes yes yes' to every experience. I talked to everyone, devoured everything. Today, I'm a bit tamer (thank god). But no less curious and motivated by understanding how things work.

I've always been chasing my version of joy, freedom, and success. And I'm fuelled by helping others do the same.

If you really, actually, wanna know a bit about me. Here are some of the big moments.

Withdrawing from architecture school

The toughest and most formative time of my youth. A decision that, in hindsight, was SO on brand. I've always been committed to only pouring into what felt truly authentic to me.

I read somewhere that a creative life is one led by curiosity instead of fear.  It's what I did then, and it's what I do now.

Bumming my way around the world - pen and paper in tow

After withdrawing I took two years off - backpacking 30+ countries solo, working odd jobs, and getting my first taste of travel. My blog The Gap Year Diaries got me many free stays back in the day.

Sometimes happiness is found in the process... or along the highway.

A cheesy go-pro vid to prove it.

My first summer in BC working as a Media Coordinator for Parks Canada

Fell in love with the outdoors and the beautiful West Coast. My supervisor fainted (and look leave) my 1st day and I was left to manage the next 6 months of EVERYTHING digital and 4 video production projects solooo....

Here's a peek at that summer if you're interested.

Quitting my corporate UX job to explore freelancing and the West Coast lifestyle.

The start of my business/granola-girl era.

Every chapter brings new joys and new challenges. And I always dive in head first.

I'm a big believer that everything is intertwined. And I'm forever thankful for the experiences leading up.
